Hero Honda Karizma


Hero Honda Karizma is regarded the most stylish and powerful bike in India. The company launched Karizma initially in 2003 and introduced upgraded version of the bike afterwards. It launched Karizma R and than Karizma ZMR PGM Fi in India. The fuel injected version is powered by a 223cc engine and churns more power and torque on the same mill.The Karizma is positioned against TVS Apache, Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS-i and YZF-R 15.

Appearence

Karizma R and New Karizma looks stunning and are available in different colour options. Broadly, the difference between these two siblings is front fairing. New Karizma's front fairing is in full shape. Apart from that a good number of technical difference are there. Hero Honda Karizma R is having air scoops and mounted turn indicators. The mask possesses halogen headlamps and small windscreen.This machine houses three dial pods. Speedometer and rpm meter comes in analogue mode while fuel gauge and tripmeter sports digital format. The combination of analogue and digital looks different and unique. The background colour of the dials is yellow that is clearly visible in daytime. The instrument panel is also comprised of total distance and a real time digital clock. Neutral and high beam indicators are placed in the middle pod.

Graphics are used at fuel tank, air scoops and rear side panels. A bold and stylish R sticker looks attractive at fuel tank. The red coloured alloy wheels in black shed is gifted for sporty looks. Red coloured rear fork's spring is eye-catching. Rear view mirrors and rear grab rails are not in body colour.

Now you can easily compare the looks of Karizma R with New Karizma ZMR. The front fairing is awesome. The graphics at the large air scoops is great. The ZMR sticker at air scoops speaks a lot about its sporty and international image. This sticker painted in red in black and white body colour while in other shades it comes in body colour.

The doom of the New Karizma is wider than its predecessor. The big doom houses clear halogen headlamps and mounted rear view mirrors. The mounted rear view mirrors and turn indicators on airscoops are borrowed from Bajaj Pulsar 220 and Yamaha R 15. Wind screen is a little longer in this bike. The dashboard of the New Karizma comes in full digital mode. The speedometer, tachometer, tripmeter and other indicators placed at the console. The battery is maintenance free, however, low battery indicator is provided for the convenience of the rider. The console sports dual colour scheme. Only the tachometer is illuminating in white background while the rest gets orange treatment. The tail side in very much sporty and houses LED tail lamp. A new style rear mud guard is fitted at the machine. The muffler has black treatment with a same colour heat shield. The bike has step-up seat, split clip on handle bars, refined rear mud guard and split grab bars are other major changes made to the machine.

Colours

Hero Honda Karizma R comes in four colours that include Vibrant Blue, Moon Yellow and Black with Red Alloys, Black with Black Alloys, Sports Red and Force Silver.

Acceleration

Karizma R is powered by a 223cc engine and can achieve 0-60 kmph sprint in around 4.5 seconds. In the same way it takes 14 seconds to touch 0-100 kmph's sprint. Similarly, the beast chases 0-400 kmph in just 19 seconds. The peak speed is claimed 125.6 kmph.

Brakes

The new Karizma R is equipped with disc brakes at front side and drum brakes at rear side. Front brake diameter is 276mm and 130mm drum type brake is incorporated in Karizma R.

Fuel Efficiency

The bike with largest capacity mill gives around 35 kmpl of mileage in city condition. Ya, it will be more on highways. Karizma R sports 15 litres fuel tank.
